This is a little overview of the Gradient Tool. Whit this tool you can make amazing things: basically it takes two colors of your choice and blends them or merges them together to give you a very interesting texture or two colors in one. Lets click on that tool now and learn some of the things we can do.

If we click on the color (1) we are going to get a pop up window and there, we can select the colors we want to work with. Notice that the Adobe has some preset gradients but we are going to create our own. Go to the levers at the bottom and click one of them. When you do that, you get the opportunity of selecting the color of your choice.

Lets start a document 400 x 400 and fill it white. Now with the gradient selected we are going to draw a line in it. In this case, we are starting from the middle and down. If you cnage the direction of the line, you get a different texture: Try it and see.

In the settings area you can change the blending options of the gradient and for instance reduce the opacity, or reverse the order of the colors by clicking reverse. If you check Dither, you avoid creating lines in your gradient.
