Step-1:

To do this tutorial you need to start a document of whatever size you need and create a layer Layer-New-Layer. Type text until you fill the entire document just like you see in the picture.

Step-2:

Now open the picture you want to turn into ascii text and drag it into your text layer using the Move Tool. If you picture is bigger than your text layer, use Edit-Transform-Scale to make it fit into your text layer.

Step-3:

With the picture selected, go to Layer-Create Clipping Mask.

Step-4:

And there you have it: Your very own ascii art.
