To do this artwork the first thing we need is a picture to work with. Lets open it and then lets create a new layer Layer-New-Layer.

Use the bucker tool and fill the layer white. Now select the Brush Tool and then click on the circled Icon. When you do that, a menu appears and load Thick Heavy Brushes. Now select the highlighted option.

Now we are going to add a Layer Mask by clicking on Layer-Add Layer Mask-Reveal All.

Now select the colors you see in the red box and you are ready to begin painting. Draw long strokes from left to right in one single sweep for better results. Make sure you leave room in all four sides to give your work the resemblance of a real canvas.

Once you achieved something like this we move on to the next step.

Create a new layer Layer-New-Layer and fill it white. Now click on Filter-Texture-Texturizer.

Once the next screen opens up, copy the data from the picture or select your own settings according to the picture you are using.

All you have to do now is to change the layer mode to Multiply and you are done.

You should end up with something like this.
