Kaleidoscope |
Step-1:
For this Kaleidoscope effect we are going to need a picture to work with. It is best to find something that has plenty of colors and textures. Open the picture in Photoshop. Double click the layer to unlock it and name it Original.
Step-2:
Now click on Image-Rotate Canvas-Arbitrary and when the window appears, enter 45 in the field and click OK. Now grab the Rectangular Marquee Tool and click on the upper corner and draw a rectangle that covers the right side of the picture as you see in the example below. Click Edit-Cut to get rid of it.
Step-3:
Now we need to click on Image-Canvas Size and we will increment the size by 150% as you see in the picture.
Step-4:
Now lets duplicate the layer Layer-Duplicate Layer and then we will click on Edit-Transform-Flip Horizontal. Name that layer copy and then go back to the Original layer.
Step-5:
NOw click on Edit-Transform-Rotate and put the two pictures together like in the sample below.
Step-6:
Now just slide the shape until it joins the other one to make a single shape as you see in the picture. Now click on Layer-Merge Visible.
Step-7:
Now that the Shape is merge, click again on Edit-Transform-Rotate and position the shape in the same way as in the picture. Now duplicate the layer by clicking on Layer-Duplicate Layer.
Step-8:
Click on Edit-Transform-Flip vertical and then use the Move Tool to place the pictures in the way shown below. Merge the layers again by clicking in Layer-Merge Visible. Duplicate layer by clicking on Layer-Duplicate Layer.
