Vamos a tratar de crear un senalador de libros y lo primero que tenemos que hacer es encontrar la foto de un libro abierto. Yo tengo esta foto de la Biblia de Juan Gutenberg.

Ahora que tengo la foto abierta lo primero que tenemos que hacer es crear una capa nueva Layer-New Layer y la vamos a llamar Shadow. En seguida repetiremos el proceso para crear otra capa nueva y a esta le llamaremos Note.

For this step, you should be on the Note layer. Grab the Rectangular Tool and the options seen above add trace a rectangle of the size you need.

Click on Select-Deselect and then on Layer-Rasterize Layer.

Ahora que ya tenemos la nota dibujada vamos a crear la sombra y para ello, vamos a la capa llamada shadow. Ahi vamos a dibujar un rectangulo como el que se ve en la foto utilizando el Lasso Tool o cualquier herramienta que quieras u usando la Bucket Tool lo vamos a llenar de negro. Solo veras una porcion del rectangulo puesto que esta capa esta "debajo" de la nota. Ahora vamos a reducir la opacidad a 30 por ciento mas o menos.

Turn off the layer with the original picture so that the note and the shadow are the only layers visible. Click on Layers-Merge Visible to merge them into one single layer. Use the Move Tool and place the sticky note where you need it now.
