Draw curtains for windows or the stage
Drawing curtains or silky textures is something that gets very easy to do. In this tutorial we will learn how to create a very nice silky texture and we will do it while we create a theater curtain. It only takes a few steps and it will be very easy to tweak the steps so you can draw other things using this technique as well. As you see in the icon, I am going to use a bloody red color because I happen to like red.
To create our curtains we need to start with a document of any size needed and then we are going to create a new layer Layer-New Layer.
We are going to need the gradient tool now and then we are going to copy the settings in the next picture. Do not worry about colors now because we just want to create the curtain now.
Now you just need to draw horizontal lines going from left to right. Click the canvas and drag the mouse for about half an inch and then release. When you release, a fold will appear. Continue drawing lines until you finish the canvas. The longer the line, the bigger the fold on the curtain. As you go, try and draw lines of all sizes to get a random result.
Now lets give it our favorite color. To do so, click on Image-Adjustments-Hue Saturation. Move the Hue, Saturation and Lightness buttons until you get the colors you want. When you are happy with them, click OK.
Now you can use this curtain in your drawings or personal projects.
