How to draw an Olympic Flag

This tutorial will show you how to create the rings to draw the Olympic flag. You will learn how to intertwine the rings with one another to make it look just like the real flag.

Step 01:
To create our Olympic flag we need to start creating a blue circle like the one you see in my canvas. I am using color 0085c and my document is 650×400. DO not forget to press the Shift key while you draw to get a perfect circle.

Step 02:
While the circle is still selected, hit Select-Modify-Contract and then reduce the size. I am going to go to 18 and this is what I get. You do yours according to your document. If you get too much or too little, just hit Control-Z and try again until you get the right size.

Step 03:
Duplicate the layer and then control-click it to select it. Now fill the selection with a different color or just repeat step one until you get all the rings. Make sure each ring is in its own layer. Name the layers after the colors.

Step 04:
This is the fun part. Control click the blue layer to select the blue ring. now click the yellow layer to work on it. Look at the picture for a better idea.

Step 05:
Now get the Eraser Tool and delete the lower part where they cross each other. I have marked it with an orange circle in the next picture.

Step 06:
Repeat the process until you are done. Control-Click the layer you want to delete a part of and click on the layer you will actually delete.
